1 Corinthians 10:13

"No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it."

The Word of God

God is faithful to us, thus we shall be faithful to God even in the midst of temptation. Now this verse reminds us very clearly that there is no temptation we are facing right now that someone else has not faced. We are not alone in this, and no temptation cannot be overcome by the power of God which is abundant and overflowing. The second point mentioned here is with the temptation, God also makes a way to get out. Yes, it is true we are not forced to do any temptation, but with free will we are able to resist and deny and flee from temptation. This is also where self control comes into play, because without it, we will never truly be able to overcome our passions, but with it, temptation can be overcome. That is why we must pray for self control, for once we can control ourselves, the self will not be able to control us. Thus, let our thirst for God be greater than our thirst for any abominable thing in the eyes of the Lord, and let us be holy, as the Father is Holy, and good to our neighbors as God has been good to us, having mercy on us time and time again. And let us not fall into temptation, but be delivered from the evil one. For Thy is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, forever and ever. Amen.
