Romans 12:4-5 (New Catholic Bible)

For just as in one body we have many parts, and the parts do not all have the same function, so we, though many, make up one body in Christ, and individually we are all parts of one another.

The Word of the Lord.

The People of God in the Church have many different and powerful gifts from the Lord. We must use these gifts for the glory and honor of God. God has ordained each and every one of us with great gifts. One has the gift to write well, so this one should write about God, so this one can serve God Lovingly, and so be immersed in God's Love and Life. Another one has the gift to console people during very stressful times, so this one should come to the people of God and serve them out of Love for them and Love for God, thereby glorifying God. And yet another has the gift to preach powerfully, another to work miracles, another to prophesy, yet another to lead, and so many other gifts that we have been given by God. The point is that we, the Church of Christ, we all have many different gifts from God, and our gifts do not all have the same function, but we all do have the same goal: to serve God out of Love for him, to Live for God in great Faith in him, and to partake of God's Love and Life for all eternity. We serve one another, we Love one another, we lay down our lives for one another, and we can use our God-given gifts to accomplish exactly that, all by the guidance and Grace of the Holy Spirit working in our lives. So therefore, we as the Church of Christ have many parts, or gifts, and all our gifts complement one another, although we do not have the same function, we can all use our gifts to serve God and to Love God, and so it is fitting for all of us to go out and use these gifts from God to do his will, unceasingly loving one another as Christ loved us. So go out, ask God to help you use your given gifts for his glory, and serve God Lovingly in everything you do. Amen.
