When I realized that my foot was slipping, your kindness, O Lord, raised me up. When my anxious thoughts multiplied, your comfort filled my soul with joy.
The Word of the Lord.
I think this is true for all of us Christians. Whenever we realized that we were falling into heresy, failing faith, doubt, unbelief, sin, sinful addictions, habitual sins, sinful despair, or apostasy, our God came to our rescue and saved us from the fires of Hell. He did! When we find ourselves worrying way too much about the temporal things of this life, God sees us, and comes and comforts us, and when we are accepting, he fills us with his Everlasting Joy. We Christians should always remember the times that Our Lord saved us, performed miracles in our lives, moved mountains for us, and brought us out of the fires of Hell. We should always remember the times when he so excellently and graciously answered our prayers, always giving thanks to God for answering our prayers, and we should always remember and thank God for the times that he was with us when no one else was. And remember, he still is with us!
I was in a sinful way of life at one point, and stuck in that way of life for quite some time. I realized that my foot was slipping, and was about to drop into eternal separation from God, when God in his kindness raised me up and set me straight. He freed me, and to this day I thank him and praise him for that wonderous mercy he gave to me. Many times I've had anxious thoughts about particular subjects, but God gave me a clear answer to them, and well I thank God all the time for those times. I still remember all those times.
Remember what God has done for you, and thank him for it. Not only did he die on the Holy Cross to free us from sin and death, but to this day, in his Risen body, still answers our prayers, still comforts us, and is still with us always, unto the age of ages. Amen.
