6:16 Can there be an agreement between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God, and for this we have God’s word:
“I will live in them and walk among them.
I will be their God,
and they shall be my people. 6:17 Therefore, come out from their midst
and separate yourselves from them,
says the Lord.
Do not touch anything unclean,
and I will welcome you. 6:18 I will be a father to you,
and you shall be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.” 7:1 Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from anything that can defile flesh or spirit, and thereby make our holiness perfect in the fear of God.
The Words of the Holy Spirit through Saint Paul
In these words that Saint Paul wrote in his letter to the Corinthian Church, we hear and understand that God is inviting all of us to be in a life that is filled with his presence. God invites all of us who are reading these sacred words to put aside the things that are preventing us having a life filled with his presence. So therefore, let us all by the Grace of the Holy Spirit put aside all worldly things and worldly lusts, let us completely cut off all sin and separation from God, who is Love, and let us walk with God, live with God, and be found within God. So then my brothers and sisters, when we cut off all things that prevent us from having a rich and fulfilling life with God, so then the words in the scriptures become reality: He will live IN US, he will walk AMONG US, and he will be a loving father to all of us. This is the truth, who is Christ, and the truth will indeed set us free, and give us a wonderful life in God, in everlasting life and communion with God. Amen.
