The Word of God

Many times in this life we are drawn to wanting more things. More material things and material wealth, more popularity, more likes, more happiness that we can get from these possessions. However, in the verse above Jesus Christ says that our life and the purpose of living it is not to covet, or to store up so much excess things for ourselves on earth. Now the reason behind this saying is because with more wealth and more follows and more likes comes with it the burden of knowledge and the straying away from God. Knowledge that if we stop coveting we may lose everything we owned, and the straying away from God because coveting is the opposite of being grateful for what God has already provided us. Since this is a less talked about sin, we must be cautious, therefore, and keep in mind our God provides what we need and takes care of us regardless of the abundance of earthly materials we possess, and, in fact, the poor in the Bible often gets lifted up to the Heavenly places and the rich put down. Now does this mean now we all got to be homeless? No! but rather we are to be wary of covetousness and the lies the devil wears to become like God. Take heed, my brothers and sisters, and remember: God takes care of you day and night, He knows every bit of you, so rely on Him and surrender to Him, and talk to Him and hear His voice, that none of us may fall into the trap of covetousness.
