James 1:19

So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;

The Word of our Savior Lord Jesus Christ, Who is and was and is to come, through James our brother

In a world where everyone is quick to speak their own mind, and listening is seen as a weakness, we are reminded of the Word of God. It has been commanded unto us to listen to each other, to be patient with one another, and not be so rash in speech, rather, knowing our speech affects not only ourselves but also our neighbors, we must take into account of what proceeds out of our mouth with intent and love. This leads to being slow to wrath, for those who tames their own mouth also tames the other person's heart, leading to understanding and clarity rather than confusion which may be the cause to wrath, and self righteousness. Therefore, we are to place others above ourselves in controlling our speech, leading one another to the Kingdom of God, through listening and the patience of the Spirit. Amen.

Very true! We need to control our tongues, for the tongue is the most dangerous human possession, for it can be used to speak great evil. But also much good. Thank you!
