Galatians 6:9
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. "
The Word of the Lord through the Apostle Paul
The truth is, a lot of times being a Christian can be tiring. One day you may feel fired up for the Lord in serving Him and His people, but the next, you fall back, not resting in the Lord, but weary in something else. Comfort tempts, and we may try so desperately to work things out our way, but our strength can only take us so far. But the Lord our God is good, because especially in our weakness He guides and strengthens us, and in this verse tells us our work is not in vain, for there is a due season.
So as laborers in Christ, we do not fall away, even when distracted, for though we sin, it is not the end for us. The Lord Jesus Christ came and died for us, and He gave us His Grace freely, redeeming us from our sins, so that we may not lose heart for there is hope. Somehow, though we still are imperfect every day by some small or big mistake, we are forgiven, and in His Everlasting Love, there is peace. The Holy Spirit descends upon us as even the angelic beings sing their silent songs of warmth and welcome. They greet us, and we know, for though we are not perfect ourselves, we can strive for unity with God, Who is perfect. Then, we can finally rest. True rest, knowing the Lord has delivered us out from our sins, so we are no longer slaves of sin. In due season, God's harvest will come, and has come already, so the good that we do will indeed result in Heavenly rewards. Spiritual blessings that will never fade away to time or corruption, so knowing the Word is Truth, we are not to grow weary, for we do not know God's timing or when He is to come, but are to rejoice in His promise, that we are His children by adoption. Therefore, we are to use every moment as an opportunity, to serve all people and to the family of believers, doing good deeds in love, and loving those who believe. We do not grow weary, then, when doing good, because we have the ultimate rest in God. We do not lose heart, then, when we reap, for the ultimate reward is God, Who has never failed us and will never fail us now.
Cling to the Lord our God, so even in our suffering or hardship, we have joy. For we have the One Who is Love, Who is good, Who is mercy, Who is the beginning and the end, the creator of the universe, Who is our friend. Thus, do not give up, and do not lose heart. The Lord our God truly is merciful. Come to Him, and He will come to you, to wrap you in His outstretched arms.
