“What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!”
The Word of God
In weakness we cling to the Lord for strength. We rely on the Lord God to deliver us from sin. He has cut our chains. We no longer have to reach for the wine of lies, but being free we may choose life in Him. We climb out of the valley together, and He leads us to His Church where Angels sing. Many don’t see, and many are blinded by darkness, but how bright is God’s Light when we choose to turn to Him! Always loving and forgiving is this God, no matter the valley we’re chained to and no matter the mountain we hold ourselves up to be, God rescue us. God humble us! Let us be like sheep, ever so reliant on the Shepherd, to lead us home. To a peace that is not comfort, but comfort in Christ. To a tree that does not wither even through the storms, because its roots are strong. So though the tree gets battered, it will not die, because the roots are thicker than the storms that eventually drain away. A rainbow spread across the sky. We rejoice. The Church sings Hallelujah. Because we stand, even now, in Christ Who’s found us, in the Spirit Who’s never left us, in the Father Who loves us still.
Though the struggle is hard, and bad days may come, the Truth stands timelessly, and the Truth is this: “Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!”
