2 Timothy 3:1-5

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!"

The Word of the Lord through Saint Paul, during His imprisonment in Rome where he awaits his execution, a warning to all.

These verses were written by Paul, who, even as he awaits his death, prophesy to us that on the Last Days, there will be a moral decline of people, which, in summary, are all those apart from the all good God by being lovers of themselves, which is the root of all sins. These people focus on themselves, rather than bending the knee for their neighbors, would rather not associate with the poor if not necessary and ignore sinful behavior instead of calling it out. They are without self control, loving pleasure more than caring for God, unrepentant rather than having a repentant heart. And what's scary is this; that these people may be having a form of godliness but denying its power. According to The Word, one can maintain an outward holy life, attending Church and serving, yet does not let God's power to fully transform their lives, because of their focus on the outside rather than the inside. Therefore they like whitewashed tombs, on the outside looking as though they are transformed and even acting very holy, however once the door closes act in temptation and becomes lovers of themselves. They try to hold onto a form of godliness, yet do not let God fully transform their life, denying His power to do so.
Thus I beg of you all; to not become one of these. That despite all sins and devil and world and powers, we are to be in the presence of the Holy Spirit always and not be one with the world, but against all worldliness. That we may not be lovers of ourselves, but lovers of God, not of pleasure and what makes us feel good, but LOVERS OF GOD. We cannot be one of those hypocrites that though have knowledge, do not change their life to match Christ's, or those that "know" God, but don't understand we are not to continue living as though He had not raised. Rather we are to come to the knowledge of truth, not serving false gods that take various shapes, but break out of the old life of sin and come to the new one founded on Christ Jesus being the cornerstone. As many without foundation may be led astray, we mustn't be deceived, but continuously grow in love for our Lord God, Who conquers over being lovers of self. So we are to care for God, not just sometimes, but all the time. And we are to care for each other. And most importantly we are to deny ourselves daily so we are made ready and willing to be used by God. May the righteous still continue righteously and not be stumbled, I pray for you all!
And surely where You are O Lord, there Your flock will gather!
God be with you on your journey, and Grace be with you all even till the age of ages. Amen.
