I was feeling real down.
This is something I wrote while in history. I wrote it first in my notebook, but I've decided to type it out here. You can say I was bored, but I was also saddened by the state of this world and its sins. So really, it had to be the Holy Spirit who moved me to write this, and I was driven in a state of grief and love and worship. More than anything, it's a longing for righteousness, for purity, for Christ, away from all this worldliness.
The world is falling deeper into darkness
People are still eating and drinking
As in the days of Noah
Children of Jesus Christ
Stick together and do not be parted
By the devil nor by this world
Woe to those who were close to You
Who bore good fruit once, but fell to worldliness
Thus bearing no fruit, and are to be cut down and burnt (Matt 3:10)
Woe to those who stumble Your little ones!
And to those that reject Your little ones!
And to those that ignore Your little ones!
Heavenly Father, heal this sinful generation with Your love
But to those that see You and hear You
Yet completely walk past You, let those
Never come back, Woe!
This cold and wicked generation
Who does not care, too focused in their own minds
On their own, to notice Your friend down the street!
Have we no compassion?
Too loud to understand Your whisper
Too far to truly be present with You
And Your children
O come, please, Lord Jesus Christ, come!
Let judgement come upon those that are
Double tongued and double faced
Who act upon the rich and shrug off the poor
Oh Jesus Christ, surely You know
The evils we do in secret that slowly consume us
O then let it no more! Oh this world, so immersed
In the life of this generation, that they lose sight of the next!
Do they not see Your Kingdom, God Almighty?
Do they not hear the earth groaning out Your Name?
Let it never be, Jesus Christ!
Let it never be, but rather
Surely this generation sees and hears, but can not comprehend!
Woe to this wicked and evil generation, Jesus Christ, come back soon!
And let Your sheep be ready for Your return,
God our Lord!
For You say the gate to life is narrow,
And many enter the gates that lead to death,
but we, Your sheep, have waited patiently for You
For You are the true gate to everlasting life!
Let us, then, not just wear our crosses
But carry our cross and continue following You!
For surely, surely, even heaven and earth will pass away
But You, The Word, shall never pass away!
Thus let us love You and be in Your presence forever and ever!
Amen.
Let us truly love our neighbors as ourselves, even more so, Jesus!
For You are love, and we are made in love and to love!
Even till the end of the age, let us then, Your children, continue to love and sing You praise!
Amen.
Truly, You have said, You are coming back soon!
Come, then, Lord Jesus Christ!
Come!
And may God The Father, and The Son, and The Holy Spirit be with you all!
Who are with Christ, and of Christ, and in Christ
Amen!
Glory be to God, Lord of all creation!
