Matthew 18:2-4

Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore whoever humbled himself as this little child is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven.

The Words of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior

Let us humble ourselves therefore like little children, knowing we are all once sinners who are saved by Christ’s love, death, and resurrection. The “greatest” in Heaven, then, is not the rich, the worldly, nor the famous, but rather someone who has the heart of a child, having humility, dependence, lowliness, simplicity, obedience, and being willing to love and be loved. Thus, like us be like little children. Amen.

And a good lot of this is taken from the footnotes of the Orthodox Study Bible so props to that! Go give it a read and spend time with our Lord if you haven’t already!
