Discussion Description:

I find it both crazy and relatable that when the soldiers came to take Jesus away, His disciples FLED (Mark 14:50). These are the same people who were with Jesus at the start of His ministry, the same people who witnessed healings, Jesus walking on water, raising of the dead, and yet… yet despite all those miracles, they still fled. They left Jesus to be taken, knowing full well Jesus is the Son of Man, that is, God. Isn’t that crazy? His closest followers and those Jesus called His friends… and yet. However I still find it so relatable. Because it is in those hard moments in life that truly shows a person’s heart, not the easy times. Anyone can be cool and good and holy in the easy times, but when the time comes to sacrifice, when your life gets put on the line. That is when your true intentions come out. So when Jesus got arrested, His disciples scatter. It really goes to show how even the faithful at a time of hardship and fear of the world may not react in a way that’s expected. So what do you think of this passage, would you have done the same thing? And if there’s anything else I’m forgetting to mention lemme know! Honor and glory to God of all.
