This thought process that we are enslaved to the cycle of sin is a dangerous lie, which can lead to hopelessness and in radical cases the will to live, because “what’s the point of life if all we do is sin more than we already had? So we might as well end it all to put an end to this sin”. Now I don’t want to get too pessimistic here, but the truth is, these fears are real and hard to battle. Being stuck in these cycles of sin very much does happen, but there is a hope, Who is Jesus Christ and being in His presence. Truly the Word does indeed say, “… In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). These tribulations mentioned can also mean fears, but we are to be of good cheer, because Jesus Christ has already overcome the world. Again, this thought process of being enslaved to these sins and cycles of sins and fear is false, and I’m not saying they’re not real, but are the lies planted by Satan to stop you from continuing on the path of righteous. In fact, a lot of earlier saints all struggled with these cycles of sins and fear, like Saint Paul who famously wrote, "For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing" in Romans 7:19 and Saint Augustine of Hippo who struggled with lust for a long time, Them being saints, you would think they’ve got it all down, and yet they still struggle for even years before finally overcoming the sin. This goes on to give us a greater hope, because truly, this shows by the power of God any amount of sin can be overcome as long as we go back to our Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ, for only He can forgive and wash us clean. So in conclusion, yes, we may still struggle with cycles of sin till we sleep, and we may never overcome these sins completely by our own power, but Jesus in Matthew 19:26 would go on to say, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” So let us not struggle alone, but rather little by little, one step at a time, keep moving forward. There’s a saying I want to share on here, which is; If Satan can’t destroy you, he can distract you, and if he can’t distract you, he can confuse you. So the fact we are struggling, truly, is a blessing and sign we aren’t destroyed. Because Satan, in the end, want to put more burden and fear on the righteous ones, so they will stop working for the Kingdom of God. But we are not to fall for this lie, or fall for these fears, because knowing Jesus has overcome the world and that He is greater, we are to keep moving forward on the path of righteousness. There may be snares and traps and uneven roads, and fears and cycles of sin, but we must not stop. We must not be overcome by this fear, because if we were to give up, it would mean Satan had won. So keep fighting, brothers and sisters in Christ, and remember; You are not alone. The fear indeed is dead if we believe it to be dead, and with faith, The Word, and Love of God all things are made possible. And if you’re really struggling, always know the Body of Christ is here for you. You, being a partaker of the Body, is to alarm the whole Body so the sin and fear is to be exposed and brought into the light. Go to Church, confess, and repent. Sometimes it may take multiple times of repentance. But again, as long as we are growing, we know because the battles would rage harder, so we all the more are to stand in Christ, together, and believe. Have faith and pray to God for the fear to be dead, and surely, our God being a faithful God, would deliver us, and not only deliver us, but give us an abundance in the Kingdom of God.
