Self control is very important, and a lot of times temptations like video games hit really strong. I could be reading the Word of God or just be sitting in silence with God, but instead I numb those precious minutes with “noise”. And it’s not to say video games are evil, in fact, they can be a great way to bond with family/friends but when it takes up time that could be spent with God, to the point of wasting time and therefore life (which God gave to us) on earth, that’s when it becomes laziness and therefore sin. I can overcome this by prayer as well as realizing that this is a sin, thus repenting and sinning no more, but rather choosing to spend my time on serving and worshiping God. This is very hard to do, especially consistently, but don’t give up, for with God anything is possible (Matthew 19:26).
