There is an early Church Document, called the Didache, that teaches the Richness of the Christian Life, and the way on how the Christian Life is best lived out, so that we may receive as a gift from God the richness of his everlasting Grace, Truth, and Love. My brothers and sisters in Christ, it is very good to learn from those who came before us, for we are called to look toward the ancient roads, that we may be reminded of the richness of God's Covenant and Grace, and be reminded of the call to become a child of God, to become Holy, for he is Holy. Without any further delay, this is what the Didache teaches to the 1st Century Christians, Christians who learned directly from the Apostles. 

The first section of the Didache opens up with the two ways of life, one way being the path to everlasting life, the other path being the path to everlasting death. The path to everlasting life is this, the two greatest commandments of Christian Love and Morality: You shall Love the Lord your God with all your Heart, with all your Soul, with all your Mind, and with all your Strength, and to Love one another as Christ loved us, to Love your neighbor as you yourself are a human being. You are called to Love your enemy, to pray for those who persecute you, to do good to those who hurt you, to show Love to the Loveless. Give generously without thinking about it, give something without the intention of asking it back, and you are called to abstain from all worldly and fleshly lusts, all kinds of desires that tempt you to draw you away from the Author of Life. When struck with insults, lies, and humiliation, you are called to turn the other cheek, and be peaceful, giving the Peace of God to those who are without peace. The other path is the path to destruction, to everlasting regret, death, and eternal suffering and separation from God. To avoid this path, you do this: Do not murder, do not lust, do not commit adultery, do not fornicate, do not corrupt youth, do not steal, do not lie, do not commit abortion, do not kill babies when they are born, do not envy and covet your neighbor's goods, do not speak evil, do not bear malice, do not be double minded or double tongued, do not be hypocritical, malicious, prideful, proud, covetous, and you shall not hate any man. 

This first section contains a lot on Christian Morality. What is the goal of Christian morality? To be completely separated from the darkness of Satan's way to death, which is completely separate from the will of God, and to be completely united to the Light of the World, Jesus Christ. Christian Morality directs us to God, who is Life, as the Fathers of the Church proclaim with great faith. God gives us the correct teaching of what is right and wrong, that we, being made in his Holy Image, will by his Grace, fully realize and fulfill the Image that we are created in, that we will live completely according to his Holy Will. His Holy Will is this: to believe the One who he has Sent, Jesus Christ, and so therefore share in God's Love and Life for all Eternity. When we are on the path of Life, we will find ourselves under the guidance and nourishment of the Holy Spirit, and so we will find ourselves completely abstaining and completely separated from the works of darkness, and through the Grace of the Holy Spirit, becoming like God and imitating God in all ways in our lives. God desires that we be saved and have life eternal with him, always sharing in his love, always sharing in his life, and we can only be given that if we live according to his Holy Will, which we have now come to know about. So then, Christian Morality directs us to the will of God, how we are to live our lives, so that the Will of God will be accomplished, that all who believe and remain faithful to him will share in his Love and Life in this life, and in everlasting life in the next life. 

This can only come to pass, if we have faith in God the Holy Trinity, and remain faithful to God the Holy Trinity. We must have Baptism so we are united to Christ, we must have the Church, for that is where the Holy Spirit dwells, we must have the Holy Spirit, for this is communion with God, and we must have the Sacramental Life, because that is the Holy and Saintly Life all are invited to, to share in God's Love and Life for Eternity.

The Section continues as a warning against lighter sins and temptations that would lead to death. We are called to fly and flee everything that is evil and everything like evil. Don't be wrathful, lustful, idolatrous, gossipy, lying, and do not partake of dark powers such as Astrology and Superstitions like believing your soccer team would win if you don't go to the game. All these things will lead to deeper and darker and more grave sins, which will lead us to the path of everlasting death and eternal separation from God. 

But repent of these things and turn to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, The Holy Church, and all these things will be destroyed by the power of God. And live in total imitation of God, being patient, compassionate, peaceful, loving, and good just as God our Father is good and loving.

We Christians are not to desire any schism in the Church of God, but to always seek and desire unity in our Lord Jesus Christ, unity with the Truth, and God's Peace in the Church of God. If anyone in the Church is accused and guilty of committing transgression, it is fitting to be gentle and correct them with the Apostolic Truth. We are also called to seek the favor of the Saints, day by day, that we may find rest in their words that they spoke by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

This ends the first half of the Didache. Some of the writing in this half is from the Didache, and some I wrote in too, simply to give a better and richer understanding of what the Didache meant. We now start the second section, which concerns Baptism, The Eucharist, Prayer, Fasting, and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

For Holy Baptism, we are meant to be Baptized in the name of The Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, for total unity with God. For the Holy Eucharist, we Christians are all called to participate in this Holy and Living Sacrament with overflowing thanksgiving. When the Chalice that holds Christ's Blood is consecrated, we are called to pray a prayer of thanksgiving and gratitude to God, thanking God our Father in words similar to these, directly from the Didache: We thank you, Our Father, for the Holy Vine, David your Son, which you have made known unto us through Jesus Chrisy your Son, to you be the Glory forever. Amen. Likewise, when the Broken Bread has been consecrated to become the Body of Christ, we also pray in similar manner to these words, We thank you, Our Father, for the life and knowledge which you have made known unto us through Jesus your Son, to you be the Glory forever. Amen. We say small prayers to God like these, for the purpose of knowing that God out of his gracious mercy and Love, has given us the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist, the great and Holy Messianic Banquet that promises total union with Jesus Christ, for when we partake of the Holy Eucharist, we are given our of God's Love, union with Jesus Christ. Next time you are at the Holy Liturgy, or the Holy Mass, remember to pray these small prayers, prayers that will lead you to be more intimate with God. And after the Holy Eucharist, we are also called to pray small prayers of thanksgiving and gratitude, for the reality of union with Jesus Christ.

For prayer, we are called to pray the Lord's Prayer, the Our Father, three time a day, in the morning, midday, and evening, for the purpose of ongoing intimate faithfulness and communion with God. For Fasting, we remember the Lord's Words, that we will not practice fasting for outward show, but for the purpose of relying on God, growing more in Love with God, and knowing God. For especially strong and faithful Christians, the traditional days of Fasting are not on Mondays and Thursdays as the Hypocrites do, but Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday, because on that day of Holy Week, Judas agreed to betray Jesus, and Friday, because Jesus Christ endured the Holy Passion. However, pray to God whether you should undertake these fasts or not.

And finally, The Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The Emphasis that the Didache writes on this is on being prepared and being watchful for the Lord's Second Coming. We must watch out lives, watching to make sure that our lives are in accordance with the Will of God, and to keep our lamps burning with oil, that is to remain grounded in the Faith of Jesus Christ, and to continue practice in Virtue the way God himself showed and taught us. To keep watch and to remain watchful and ready for the Lord's Second Coming, when he will come again to judge the Living and the Dead, we must all gather together frequently to partake of the Lord's Eucharist, continually remain faithful, continually serving God and loving God, and continuing to be ready for the Lord's Judgement on Judgement Day. We Christians must always be ready and to keep watch, to remain close to the truth, that we at the end of the age, may be received into Eternal Life with God in everlasting life. There will be many false prophets, many ingenuine preachers, many deceiving people who will try to lead people away from Christ. But we, who are in the Church of Christ, are to keep a guard, keep our lamps burning, and watch, and stay prepared, staying grounded in the Truth of Christ, and remaining faithful to God until the Glorious Second Coming, when the Lord Jesus Christ will come again, with great glory, power, and dominion, so much that he will outshine the sun itself, together with all the Holy Saints, Martyrs and Confessors, along with the Mother of God and the Holy Angels and Archangels, to finally rid the world of all evil, and to bring the New Jerusalem to all who have remained faithful to him, so that they who have remained faithful to Jesus Christ will be received into everlasting life and love forever and ever. But to those who reject the Lord, those who choose to not believe, to stay cut off from life, to stay separated from God by their sin, they will be cast into outer darkness, eternally separated from God, and suffering forever because they chose to not be with the Author of Life, God the Holy Trinity, despite such evidence and signs.

Now despite all of this writing, this still does not cover all of the teachings and doctrines of the Didache. My brothers and sisters, please remember these teachings, but also out of Love for the Lord, go ahead and read the Didache for yourself.
