However in our life with God and in living our lives in faith with the Triune God, we can expect demons to try us and to tempt us. They will not stop tempting us with temptations to sin, outright lies, and planting the feelings of fear, anxiety, and instability in our lives. However, despite their repeated temptations and attacks, we can of course defend ourselves from their wickedness, by the Grace of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our main friend in spiritual warfare, so it is important to be in living communion and faith with the Holy Spirit as well, and especially to have the Grace of the Holy Spirit, for the demons cannot withstand the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Yes indeed, and there is also another unseen friend we have in our battle with the demonic powers: Saint Michael the Archangel. As described in the Book of Daniel and Revelation, Saint Michael the Archangel is seen battling the demons by the power of God and winning over the demonic powers. That being said, to receive his strength and to receive his defense while in spiritual battle, we can pray a prayer of intercession to Archangel Michael, of which the prayer is right below right here:

Saint Michael the Archangel,

defend us in battle.

Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.

May God rebuke him we humbly pray,

and do thou, O prince of heavenly hosts,

by the power of God,

cast into hell Satan,

and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world, seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Saint Michael the Archangel, pray for us! Amen!
