My brothers and sisters in Christ, one of the great and amazing creations that God created is music. My friends in Christ, I deeply encourage you all to listen to these Gregorian Chants. Mainly because of two reasons. One, because we are always in a spiritual battle with the powers of darkness. Remember what Saint Paul wrote in his Epistle to the Galatians: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." This Scripture is Ephesians 6:12, for those of you who want to know. The point is, we are in battle with the demons and dark powers who are in rebellion against God. Since they are in rebellion against God, they want to do everything contrary against God. The demons' agenda when it concerns humans, is to alienate humanity from God, to separate the only created being that bears the image of God away from God. For God wants humanity to be united to himself, and for humanity to have this intimate union with God, but the demons, or fallen angels, who are in rebellion against God, do not want this to happen. For the demonic powers hold on to their pride they have against God, and they want to prove themselves right against God, so they try to get humanity away from God by the ways of sin, fear of death, and the reign of their master, Satan. However, the power of God triumphs over the powers of darkness. The power of God can and indeed does destroy all demonic activity in peoples' lives. And God's power can be really heard and felt when one listens to Gregorian Chants, which were created by Monks who live the ascetic life for the purpose of intimate union with God. If then God's power can be clearly communicated through Gregorian Chants, shouldn't we use these Chants in our battles with the demonic forces? Wouldn't they run away cowering in fear because of the Almighty Power of God communicated through these Chants? By all means yes! These Chants help us focus on God, destroys the demons trying to get at us, and gets us closer to God when we intimately listen to them. So, whenever you are in a spiritual battle with the demons, take the simple way out and listen to these Chants. For they are indeed effective and powerful, for the power of Christ is communicated through them.

The second reason why these Chants would be useful in your spiritual life is because it can help your prayer life. Are you struggling to stay focused in prayer with God our Father?
