Blessed Lent to you brothers and sisters in Christ! It is my hope that all of you are having a very wonderful and blessed Lent, growing closer and more in union with God. Hopefully all of you are keeping to your Lenten promises, and I really do hope that all of you know and feel truly that you are closer to God than you were before. I hope the Love of Christ resonates in each and every one of you this Lent season! Keep remaining steadfast in the faith brothers and sisters, and do not back down, do not give up, but persevere for Christ.

Talking about Christ's parables once again, these parables reveal the very deep and precious things about God and his Holy Kingdom, the Church. One of these important parables is The Parable of the Hidden Treasure in the field. As you have read it at the top of the article, it is about a man finding treasure in an ordinary field, and then selling everything just to have the treasure, which the man perceived as being of very high value. And of course, after buying the field for the sake of the treasure, he had a lot of joy and happiness.

The teaching the Christ is communicating to us through this parable is this: The Kingdom of Heaven has so much value, that one needs to surrender everything to have the Kingdom of Heaven. A person seeking the Kingdom of Heaven, or seeking the knowledge of the Creator, or even seeking something to fulfill the void in their lives which they have discovered, they will find it in Christ. But in order to receive Christ, the person must sell all their possessions, meaning one has to surrender everything to receive the greatest and most valuable treasure: Jesus Christ himself, the Son of the living God.

The Parable itself illustrates people who unintentionally discover Christ and his Holy Church, just like the man walking in the field and discovering the hidden treasure, but they receive the treasure with great joy and gladness. It is hidden so that worldly people do not recognize it, in order that they might not receive greater condemnation on the final day when Jesus Christ separates the righteous from the wicked. Thus, the mercy of God is shown in this parable also. However, to those who seek the Kingdom, they must surrender everything for the treasure that they know is very valuable. Although the person buying the field may look like a fool, they know its value because of the hidden treasure and so rejoice over having it.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, have a Blessed Lent, and now with this understanding, go out and give this understanding to people who need it, and bring people to the hope, love, and faith of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Keep remaining steadfast in the faith, and do not stop having communion with God. Apply these teachings to your life, and if you are struggling to put these into your life, ask God and he will help. Have faith, and ask for help, and help will come. Peace be with you my brothers and sisters in Christ.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, to whom be honor, glory, and worship now and forever unto the age of ages.
