In the new year of 2026, we should call to mind the wonderful things God has done for us. How he delivered us out of sin, and gave us a new life of freedom from sin, and the great promises that he has given us through our redemption, Jesus Christ, of which are Eternal Life, Union with God, Forgiveness of Sin, and the fruits of the Holy Spirit. 

We should also call to mind brothers and sisters how God has been merciful and loving to us, and answered our prayers. How he answered all our individual and personal prayers, as well as those of the Holy Church. In those things God showed to us how loving he truly is, hearing the cries of his people, and taking quick action to answer our prayers.

All these things my brothers and sisters in Christ, we should always be grateful for, and we should show our gratitude towards God always. For gratitude is like medicine and treatment for things like envy, covetousness, and pride. By practicing gratitude in our everyday lives, we can remain faithful to The Lord our God, and we can always come to trust him always.

In the new year also brothers and sisters, it is also important to know that God is always with us. As we practice gratitude toward God and his Church, we come to always trust in God and know that God is with us. Despair and depression are serious ways the devil uses to try to make us sin. As Christians we must resist these temptations to be in despair and negative, and we need to remain faithful to Christ our Lord. How do we know this? Because of the Holy Spirit, which God our Father poured out to us through his Son Jesus Christ. We always know that the Holy Spirit is with us, because God loves us. That's the simple truth.

We are never alone brothers and sisters, for the Holy Spirit is with us who follow Jesus Christ. Do not give into despair but rejoice in the truth that we who deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow Jesus Christ, we are in communion with the Holy Spirit. And we know this because we bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and we live just as Jesus did, full of grace and truth.

Do not give into despair and the anxieties of this life in the new year brothers and sisters, but always know this: we are never alone, for the Holy Spirit and our guardian angels are always with us. Even if things go wrong or worse, or we think God is supposedly far away, The Holy Spirit and the guardian angels are with us always, never abandoning us. Even Christ himself in Matthew 28:20 says that he is always with us, even unto the very end of the ages. And in the new year, always practice Godly gratitude, thanksgiving, and gratefulness, for these indeed are powerful against pride and coldness of heart.

The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of the Father, as well as the Holy Spirit be with you always, my brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen.
