Hello brothers and sisters in Christ our Lord! It is another beautiful day that the Lord had given us, and so we should give thanks to the Lord our God that he has saved us through his Son, Jesus Christ, forgiven us of our sins, and has given us Eternal Life through him who has saved us. It is a wonderful reality that we live in that Christ Jesus loves us so much, and has given us the strength to deny ourselves, carry our crosses, and follow him as true disciples of Christ. God is truly with us.

The scripture passage above is showing Jesus Christ our Lord telling us the faithful and wise servant, vs the unfaithful and foolish servant, and Jesus encourages us to be the faithful servant. The faithful servant is the one who denies themselves, takes up their cross, and follows Jesus Christ every day. The faithful one can be seen loving Jesus Christ every single day, for the faithful one keeps Christ's commands. For the faithful one who remains loyal to Christ knows that when one keeps Christ's commands, they are loving God in the most intimate way possible. The faithful one also uses their talents to serve Jesus in the greatest way possible. Using their abilities given to them by God, they figure out great ways on how to please God in all ways possible, and how to be more loving to God altogether. The faithful one can also be seen bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. How is this possible? It is because they have the Holy Spirit with them always, for they have chosen every day to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Jesus Christ. The faithful one keeps to the faith and endures in it until Christ comes again and gives them the promises of the Gospel: forgiveness of sin, eternal life, and union with God.

However, Jesus also talked about the unfaithful servant, who, although at one time was following the master, decided to no longer remain steadfast, and so they indulge in other things contrary to the master's commands. Jesus warns against the hypocrisy and apostasy (meaning abandoning of the faith) of the unfaithful servant. If a Christian decides that they do not need to remain steadfast and faithful to Jesus Christ and so indulges in other things contrary to preparing for the second coming of Christ, they will not find themselves prepared and ready for Christ's second coming, and so they will find themselves not inheriting the promises of the Gospel. The unfaithful one does not deny themselves, does not carry their cross, and does not follow Jesus Christ daily. It would not be clear if the unfaithful servant to Jesus Christ really loves him, for they do not keep all of his commands, just the ones they want to. The unfaithful one is not seen bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit, and they discard their abilities and talents for usage for God. In essence, the unfaithful one forsakes Jesus Christ, and they do things contrary to what they should be doing as a Christian.

It is therefore important my brothers and sisters that we remain like the faithful servant for Jesus Christ, that we should remain steadfast in the faith, that we remain faithful to the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ. To remain disciplined and steadfast in the faith, we must always keep Christ's commands. By keeping Christ's commands, we find ourselves denying ourselves, carrying our crosses, and following Jesus Christ more intimately. And by doing this, we find ourselves filled with love for God, love for others, and bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit. When we remain disciplined and faithful in following Jesus Christ, we become like the faithful servant, always doing what is pleasing and good to his master.

So let us always remember that brothers and sisters: remain faithful and steadfast in our faith in Jesus Christ, never abandoning him, but doing what he wants us to do. It may be hard at times, but God is with us. Amen.
