Hello brothers and sisters. It is a beautiful day, and we must thank God who is Love for giving us another sunrise, another day to praise him, another day to live with our loved ones. Praise God for raising his Son, Jesus Christ, from the dead, therefore freeing us from the slavery known as sin, and for creating everything from nothing. This brothers and sisters, this is very worthy to be thankful about. Remember to keep the commands of Christ, for this is love to him, and pray for sinners, that they may find Christ, and so be freed from sin.

A very important tool that we can use to talk to God is prayer. Prayer is basically a telephone to God, communicating with God, through the teaching that Christ taught us to pray, the Our Father. Brothers and sisters, it is extremely important to pray consistently to the Lord our God, for when we communicate with God, we keep our focus on him, and when we keep our focus on him, it is easier to have faith, hope, and love in him, for he took away all of our sins. You may also ask anything in prayer to God in Christ's name, and if it is truly according to his perfect will, he will do it for you, so that the Father may be glorified through the Son.

But a key thing that we should remember when we pray to God is this: to listen for his voice. Brothers and sisters, once we know how to hear God's voice, we will be able to know what he wants us to do this day, and to be strengthened by his words, just like the Early Church, who were in constant communication with God. We know how powerful the Early Church was, guided by the Holy Spirit every single day. And they consistently prayed to God and heard his voice truly in their prayers. So, this is how you can truly hear God's voice in prayer, for it is a reality.

First, make sure that you are consistently reading the Bible, so that you may know how God talks and what he speaks. Even one or two verses a day is good enough but strive for more than just this. For the more you read Holy Scripture, the more you know how God speaks to his people. But make sure that what you draw from Holy Scripture matches with that the Chruch interprets Scripture. Next, when you go to pray, make sure that it is quiet, secret, and your focus is on prayer with God. Christ does truly command us to do this, for he said that when you pray, go into your closet, so that when you pray, it may be in secret. Then when your Father sees what is done in secret, he will reward you (Matthew 6:6). Then go on ahead and start your prayer with God. Start with the Sign of the Cross, then pray the Our Father, and pray whatever else you would like, including other prayers, and requests to God himself. Now, this is when you ask God to hear his voice. Before saying anything, prepare yourself to hear God's voice. When you are ready, say, "Lord, I humbly open my heart to you to hear your voice. Please speak to me, so that I may know what you want me to do, and will me to do." Pray this with true faith and belief, and it will work. It must be completely silent, and you may have to wait a couple seconds before hearing the first words of God in your prayer. As God speaks in your heart, listen very carefully to what he has to say. Be sure to do what he says should he command you to do something. If you read Holy Scripture consistently, God's voice will align with the words and will of God in Holy Scripture. As God is done speaking to you, thank God for him speaking to you, close out in prayer, and marvel that God himself has spoken to you.

Now go and pray.
