Love. It is the most powerful word ever to have been spoken. But how do we love? And where can we look to find the greatest example of love?

Look to Christ Jesus. Look at his life. Even though he was God in human form, he was always humble. For his entire earthly life, Jesus Christ was respectful and loving to his mother, Virgin Mary, and foster father, Saint Joseph. He always obeyed his parents, for it is loving to listen and do what your parents ask you to do. For you are treating them with love when you obey them.

And consider the ministry of Christ Jesus. Whenever someone with a severe illness would come to him, Jesus Christ would never turn them away but rather heal them at that moment and free them from their suffering. So he went out of his way to heal the sick, give sight to the blind, give the deaf the ability to hear, and gave the lame the ability to walk again. All this in a loving, caring manner.

And also think about how he raised the dead. Consider the raising of the widow's son. The widow was already in sadness for she had no husband, and her only son passed away, leaving her no one close to be with. Without Jesus Christ, she would have never known the definition of happiness again. But because Jesus Christ was kind and loving, he again went out of his way to raise the widow's son from the dead. He gave the widow joy and happiness once again, all for the glory of God. For the Glory of God can be seen when one loves another, not just in words, but in actions and truth.

And consider the ultimate act of love: Christ Jesus dying in the worst way possible to take away all of our sins. He suffered greatly, but without a cause. So, Christ Jesus innocently suffered scourging, mockery, the crown of thorns, beatings, and crucifixion just to take away all of our sins through his body and blood. For without Christ Jesus, we would all die in our sins. But now that Christ paid the ultimate price, we have life through him when we love him. And the way we love Christ is if we keep his commands. And his command is this: that we love each other deeply, in all ways possible. Love does no harm to a neighbor, so therefore when we love each other, we love them in words and actions and truth.

So, remember the example that Christ Jesus showed us and remember to be kind and look out for others. Love them in any way you can. Do not harm them, but love them, just as Christ Jesus showed us.

May the Love of God be with you always, to the very end of the age.
