Believers in Christ have to do many things that Christ commands us to do, but one of them that is among the most important is forgiveness. We Christians must forgive others no matter the case. Sometimes however it is very hard to do.

But brothers and sisters, remember what Christ taught us in the form of a parable, in which you can read above, or in this link here: Matthew 18:21-35

In this parable, called the Parable of the Unmerciful Servant, Jesus tells the story of a servant that owed a lot to his King, but could not pay any of it back, and so asked for forgiveness. So the King, having pity on him, let the debt go. Sometime later this same servant saw one of his debtors who owed him not much. This servant was not merciful to his debtor, and when his debtor asked for forgiveness, the servant did not, and instead threw him into prison. When the King heard about this, it enraged him, and called back this servant, and so asked him, "Why did you not forgive your fellow servant like I did with you?" The King then ordered his men to throw this servant into prison as well to be tortured, until he paid back all he owed.

Jesus Christ then says, "This is how my Father will treat each one of you if you do not forgive from your heart."

So my brothers and sisters, since we live under the reign of Christ through his cross and resurrection, we ought to forgive one another, for this is the righteousness that God wants us to do. If this isn't what God wants us to do, why then did he die in the most brutal and humiliating way possible to take away our sins? So then, this is truly the will of God, that we forgive one another of each others wrongs, so that we may be loving one another just as Christ loved us, which then gives us the path to Eternal Life.

My brothers and sisters, do not hold grudges against one another, for this is evil in the sight of the Lord. You must forgive each other to the fullest. For this is one of the many things we ought to do under our freedom in Christ. Forgive and love one another, just as God forgave us of our sins through Christ, and just as Christ loved us.

May Jesus Christ be with you always, along with the Holy Spirit and the Father.
